overview
- there are some kinds of Remote Desktop application
- they are used for controling remote PC or server
- some of them provide console environment for remote access
- shortly, CUI Remote Desktop application
- ex) Putty
- some of them provide sharing the screen in real-time
- shortly, GUI Remote Desktop application
- ex) Team Viewer
- for general users, it is preferd to use the GUI one for ease
- because of the experiencing like using the PC or server directly
- in this situation, I would recommend you Google Remote Desktop
- using for free
- connecting with Google Account
- easy installation with Chrome Browser
server-side-setup
- requirements for using Google Remote Desktop in server-side
- Chrome Browser
- Chrome Remote Desktop Extension
- Chrome Remote Desktop Host
- installing Chrome Browser
- visit google.com with any web browser, which is not the Chrome Browser
- check the right-top pop-up dialog for suggesting to use Chrome Browser and follow it
- installing Chrome Remote Desktop Extension
- visit remotedesktop.google.com with Chrome Browser
- click the download icon in right-bottom corner
- click the add button for installing extension
- installing Chrome Remote Desktop Host
- when the Chrome Remote Desktop Extension is installed, file save dialog will be shown
- save it, and click the accept and install button
- installation will be processed, just click OK on all dialog
- name the server, and it will be displayed on Google Remote Desktop
- enter the PIN numbers, it must be longer than 5 digits
- click the start button, and the server would be ready soon
client-side-setup-and-usage
- requirements for using Google Remote Desktop in client-side

- using Google Remote Desktop in client-side
- visit remotedesktop.google.com with Chrome Browser
- in the remote device list, click the one whose status is online
- you will be asked for PIN numbers, enter it
- the screen of server will be displayed in current tab
- now you can use the Chrome as Remote Desktop application
caution
- one device can be registered on only one Google Account
- ex) when account A registered device X and then account B registered device X, account A cannot access the device X
- if you have a eternal wait after entering PIN numbers, it means somebody registered the device on his/her Google Account
- one device can be connected in the same time
- ex) when user 1 with account A is connected to device X, others cannot connect to device X even using account A
- if you have a warning dialog after selecting device on remotedesktop.google.com page, it means somebody is using the device on the same Google Account
